My ribs hurt already 2 days. I want to see a doctor. Does an orthopedic doctor treat ribs?

YES.
No particular doctor treats ribs.
Only severe rib injuries require surgical treatment, which are very rare. Save your money. Don’t see any doctors.

Yes. Many orthopedic surgeons will evaluate rib pain. However, this is usually following an acute injury such as a fall down the stairs or off a bike. A rib fracture is common after this type of trauma. Chronic or a traumatic rib pain, that is not associated with trauma can have many non-orthopedic causes and should first be evaluated by your primary MD for other diagnoses.
