My teenage son has some nerve damage in his shoulder. Does exercise help nerve regeneration?

Yes, 100%. Nerves want to be used and told what to do. Causing them to exercise and send signals will allow for a best potential outcome. Nerve damage is very severe and needs to be addressed quickly before it becomes permanent. There are regenerative medicine products that can speed up this process, but not all doctors are educated in this field.
Exercise should be performed under the guidance of trained physiotherapists, familiar with treating nerve injuries. Exercise is important to maintain range of motion to prevent stiffness and to strengthen the muscles involved
