Unfortunately, the question of group counseling working all depends on you and the issues at hand. Some people enjoy the group dynamic while others prefer the privacy of one on one therapy. You never know until you’ve tried both to see what works best for you.

Generally speaking, group counselling with a competent facilitator can be incredibly powerful. The benefits of a group that you cannot get from individual therapy is the understanding and validation from others who truly “get it” having been through similar circumstances, and group members can therefore support each other in valuable ways. Group members can offer shared experiences and suggest ways they’ve coped with similar circumstances.

Depends on the individual, but I think finding others who have similar issues and a support system is a good thing.
Yes group counseling is one of the best approaches to addiction treatment. The ideal of people help each other with sharing and giving feedback is so good! By sharing openly, you not only help you but you help others as well!
Group counseling is a good tool for certain diagnosis or conditions. For example, if I have a similar diagnosis as another person, I may learn from their journey and it allows clients to discuss their problems while still having the guidance and mediation of an expert. It can be a tool that works for many.
Counseling is unique to everyone, so group counseling is the same thing. If you would feel comfortable being in a group setting, it could be very beneficial for you.

Hello and thank you for your question,
Group therapy can work for several mental health conditions. Oftentimes, people find comfort in not being alone and knowing that others are going through similar issues.
