“Dog bite?”
Do I need medical attention for a dog bite that did not break the skin? It only left an ugly bruise.

Given your age and the extensiveness of the bruise you might want to have a physician take a look at it. If you have not been vaccinated against tetanus with in the last 10 years you may want to get a booster shot.
If there was no break in the skin, you should be all right. Just keep an eye out for increasing redness or pain, it should gradually get better over the next few days.
You should call your PCP or can go to Urgent care as soon as possible for evaluation.
