“Epilepsy from fetal alcohol syndrome?”
My ex boyfriend, unfortunately, passed away in 2018 due to a seizure caused by epilepsy from fetal alcohol syndrome and scaring on the left side of his brain. He was on medication first with one then three by the time he passed away. Did he have any other options that could've cured him or prolonged his life besides medicine?

some patients may be candidates for brain surgery if their epilepsy is not controlled by medications alone.
Epilepsy may have contributed to his death, but patients with FAS have a life expectancy of only 31 to 37 years even separate from epilepsy. Patients with epilepsy not controlled with 3 medications may be candidates for brain surgery if only 1 small area of the brain is causing the
seizures. In FAS that would likely not be the case. FAS affects the brain all over. So, no there is likely nothing else that could have been done. My condolences for your situation. To lose someone so young is heartbreaking.
