You should see a gynecologist so you can be evaluated. You should get your hormones checked, a pelvic exam and a pelvic ultrasound.
It is possible the steroids are interfering with the normal hormone balance.
You did not mention weight or acne, both of which could be signs of PCOS, which is a common cause of irregular menses,
A pelvic sonogram would help assess polycystic, ovarian syndrome and the endometrium for possible pathology. And could indicate further evaluation with possible endometrial biopsy. If ultrasound and hormone work up or negative, I would recommend oral contraceptives to help regulate distressful menstrual irregularity of menses.
1) A thorough Gynecology Examination, pregnancy test urine (+ blood test) should be in order.
2) The Medical Lab work -up including the hormonal profile.
3) Your medication could be the source of the abnormal hormonal variation and the weight control goal.
4) If the pregnancy test is negative, a short course of hormonal therapy can be very helpful to resolve the problem
Thank you very much.
Sincerely Yours,
Bich Le, M.D.
