I suggest you try acupuncture, herbs, and sometimes massage from a good provider. This should help you with your ankle arthritis pain.
Reducing the inflammation will help reduce pain. I recommend you see a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for evaluation and further treatment options.
I recommend trying acupuncture to help with pain management. Acupuncture is highly effective for relieving pain.

"Acupuncture may help reduce pain and improve patients’ quality of life. There’s research that shows acupuncture may help decrease pain perception. A journal article in Anesthesiology Journal wrote, “Electroacupuncture blocks pain by activating a variety of bioactive chemicals through peripheral, spinal, and supraspinal mechanisms. These include opioids, which desensitize peripheral nociceptors and reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines peripherally and in the spinal cord, and serotonin and norepinephrine, which decrease spinal n-methyl-d-aspartate receptor subunit GluN1 phosphorylation. Additional studies suggest that electroacupuncture, when combined with low dosages of conventional analgesics, provides effective pain management that can forestall the side effects of often-debilitating pharmaceuticals” (Zhang et al., 2014). Anything that ends in 'itis' has inflammation and heat, so ice can be helpful. You might also try going on a STRICT gluten free diet for a month and see if that helps. Gluten is one of the biggest causes of inflammation in our society today.
You can massage your ankle or try acupuncture treatment.
yes
Arthritis means the cartilage has deteriorated between 2 bones in a joint. NSAIDs, injections, and ankle braces/immobilization are the conservative ways to alleviate the pain. Surgically, you can have a total ankle replacement or an ankle fusion.
Acupuncture is typically very good for managing this type of pain. Some topical creams/ointment/patches can help, over the counter pain meds can sometimes offer some relief (make sure you talk to your doctor or the pharmacist about any potential interactions with existing medication or conditions), and prescription medication can help to ease the pain associated with arthritis.

Even though it's painful, it's important to keep the joint moving and/or stay active.
