How can I heal my mouth?

I was stressed as I forget how to properly take my meds, and so I applied an undiluted half dropper of iodine tincture on the underside of my tongue. Immediately upon contact, I spit it out and proceeded to rinse my mouth for twenty minutes. However, about two hours later: white streaks have appeared on the most damaged areas of the floor (one whiter than the rest) and I'm suffering from a raw, dry, astringent feeling and a slight burn (like that after hot sauce consumption). Furthermore, the metallic taste of iodine still remains and is exacerbated when I drink water. Are there any remedies for this? Please help.

I have a few suggestions if this is still bothering you. First, chew and then spit out some bread or baked potato. The starch in those foods may disperse the iodine taste. Something else that you can try is rinsing your mouth out with activated charcoal. Definitely rinse your mouth with warm salt water, (1/4 teaspoon salt in 1 cup warm water,) at least every two hours. That will sooth any injured tissues.
