Brush multiple times a day, use water pik flosser, and rinse with warm
water and a little salt.
You have to see your orthodontist. It is not supposed to be.
Making sure that you can floss and properly keep the teeth and gums clean will help ensure your gums to remain healthy and not bleed. There are aids for flossing with braces, like interproximal brushes. Your orthodontist should have great suggestions and maybe some samples.
Gums bleed due to inflammation. Good place to begin is to have a professional cleaning from your hygienist. Good flossing or water flossing as well as brushing, even if your gums bleed. Lastly either your dentist could prescribe a rinse or recommend an over the counter rinse. My favorite is Peroxyl which is a peroxide base mouth rinse.
