Hello, Depends on how much recession, you may be able to have a filling. If the crown is damaged on the bridge, you may have to have a new bridge.
Gum recession is multifactorial. Finding the cause of the recession will be key to a successful treatment. The recession caused by aging and natural collagen loss might just need an observation especially when asymptomatic. Bridges last 10 to 15 years, if your bridge is in that range it might need to be replaced. Other causes might be periodontal disease, loss of opposite dentition, and chewing more on the bridge side of the mouth to just name a few.
