“How do I know if I have a dry socket or normal pain?”
I am a 24 year old male. I wonder how can I know if I have a dry socket or normal pain?

Dry sockets are very painful and not much helps (i.e., Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Ice, Heat). Normal pain from extractions usually feel like a bruise, but are not incapacitating or difficult to control with normal pain relievers.
Dry socket usually happens around the 3-4th day after the extraction. It usually occurs in lower back teeth, and happens more frequently in smokers. The pain is much, much worse than what you felt on day 2.
If you have dry socket, you will know - hole where the tooth was and pain. If you are going to extract "wisdom teeth", follow the "post-extraction instruction" seriously, and don't be in dry socket situation.
