“How do you know if it's your tonsils that hurt?”
I am a 33 year old female. I have throat pain which I think is from tonsils. How do you know if it's your tonsils that hurt?

You can look at your throat in the mirror and if you see that your tonsils are very large then that could indicate the pain is coming from the tonsils. If you see a bright red throat and white exudate coming from the tonsils, it is best to go to the doctor for a strep test.
If you are hurting when you swallow. Take ibuprofen also there are lidocaine sprays over the counter
Get a flashlight. Get a plastic knife for a tongue depression. Whatever you can use say ahh. If you have swollen painful tonsils call a clinic before you go. Do not ask a friend to look. Go to a Covid 19 test site where you live. Big name commercial urgent care places will not see people w sore throats. Call ahead. Be well!
