I am a 34 year old female. I want to know how do you prep for a cavity filling?

Dentists will usually use either drills or lasers, or even both. We need access to the cavity and depending where it is and its extent, different access points will be used. I know this is vague, but without further information, it’s very difficult to discuss. I would recommend discussing with your dentist.

You must have heard someone at your dentist's office use this term. The word prep is short for "preparation." It is the process by which the dentist uses his hand piece to clean and shape the cavity in the tooth for the filling material.
I'm not sure I understand the question. Is it how do you (as the patient) prepare for a filling apt? Arrive on time with your teeth brushed and flossed. Try not to be nervous.
