How do you put a crown on an implant?

I got an implant 2 weeks ago. How do you put a crown on an implant?

Once the implant has completed healing, an abutment (connection part) is screwed into the implant and then the crown is connected to that either via another screw or cement.
There are three parts to an entire implant. The implant, the abutment and the implant crown. The actual implant is a titanium screw that goes into the bone and it is hollow in the middle. This allows an abutment to screw into the implant. The abutment is the foundation for a crown that sticks up above the gum tissue to allow the crown to sit on it. [image0.jpeg]
