Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) greater than 60 or higher is the normal range. GRR lower than 60 may mean kidney disease. GFR 15 or lower may mean kidney failure. There are urine tests, Dipstick urine test, Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) which compares albumin to creatinine in your urine. Blood tests, Serum creatinine, glomerular filtration rate (GFR), Blood Urea Nitrogen, Blood test, Imaging, and others. Yes, however, is better to go to your healthcare provider who have you complete medical history and therefore his / her assessment would be more complete. They can other additional tests if they are needed. Please, ask the healthcare provider who ordered the laboratory tests for a complete analysis, they will help you.
Please watch YouTube videos and read Wikipedia. Otherwise, find a Nephrologist with who you are comfortable with to answer your questions.
Compare your result (BUN and Cr) to the normal range. But if you had a previous lab, you should compare it to the previous result to see if there is a change. Also, the urine is important to look for any protein, blood, or WBCs. protein in urine is bad. Blood is not good either and WBC at times could mean infection. You would need help from your physician to interpret.
