Normally, there is not much pain on placement of implants unless a lot of tissue was involved during the implant placement. There is no nerve in the bone where the implants should be placedThere are some major nerves in the bone, but these should be avoided during implant placement. If the tissue was reflected and had to be moved, that can cause pain. Most oral nerve pain during implant placement comes from the tissue, which has a lot of nerve inervation, not the bone. If you have pain anti-inflammatories will, also may help with 5 minutes on and 15 minutes off for the first 3 hours. More severe pain will require a prescription medication such as Norco 10/325 mg every 4-6 hours.
Ibuprofen is usually sufficient if you are medically able to take some. There usually is not much discomfort after implant procedures.

If tooth implant or dental implant placed is causing you pain, see the oral surgeon or dentist near you for treatment. If the over-the-counter pain relief, or rinsing with warm salt water does not suffice, X-ray and clinical examination is needed to see the cause of pain, which can be different factors! Are you having tooth pain or pain from implant placement. Tooth pain often comes from the tooth or the surrounding bone. Post implant surgery pain is usually from the gum tissue. Either way taking OTC pain meds is usually adequate
Always keep the area clean after any dental procedures. However, please VERY gentle when you are cleaning the implant site as you don't want to tear the suture or the gum apart. Please have your dentist prescribe you the proper pain management/medication as it would help with the pain and the inflammation as well. Good luck!
