See a periodontist.
The first advice is to see your dentist as treatments can vary according to how deep the pockets are. Treatment can range from improved oral hygiene instruction to a deep cleaning and debridement.
Generally a deep pocket is a sign of periodontal disease. I would confirm the issue and refer you for treatment to a periodontist. They are specialists in the support structures for your teeth.
Depending on the depth of the gum pocket, your treatment options will vary. Generally speaking, if your pocketing is less than 7mm it can be treated with a traditional scaling and root planing procedure (deep cleaning). This would involve being numbed in the area and the pocket mechanically cleaned of debris and disinfected with solutions and/or laser.

If the pocket is 7mm or more, generally best to see a gum specialist to treat this area (periodontist). Gum surgery would be needed to effectively clean below the pocket and bone smoothed for your gums could heal properly. With any of these options it is imperative to return to the dentist for maintenance cleanings every 3 to 4 months.
