How do you treat an infected pulp?

I have an infected pulp. Is it serious? How do you treat an infected pulp?

Two ways to treat an infected pulp, 1. extraction or 2. Root Canal Therapy. Both remove the cause of the pain, the nerve. Antibiotics are of some help, by helping the body fight the infection, but removal of the cause is always best.
The infected pulp is usually treated with a root canal.

See your dentist and have root canal therapy
Either root canal treatment or extraction of the entire tooth.
An infected pulp can be treated by doing a root canal treatment/ removal of the infected pulp. Infected pulps can lead to facial swelling, bone loss at the root apices, and loss of tooth if not treated timely.
Hello, an infected pulp probably means you have an infection in the pulp space. This means you need to have a root canal to clean out the infection and the space. It should be treated as soon as you can. Sometimes they are painful, and sometimes they are draining. Sometimes you may not have any symptoms or even realize anything is going on. Usually, a simple root canal should take care of it. Most infected pulps do not require antibiotics. They could be inappropriate because pulpal infections aren’t like other infections in the body and often don’t really respond to an antibiotic.
So, the long answer is: Yes, they are serious and should be treated as soon as possible because they can do damage to the jawbone and cause pain and swelling at any point. And the correct treatment is a root canal if the tooth is in good enough shape to fix. Antibiotics may be a good addition to therapy, but don’t take the place of it at all in this case. Hope this helps.
An infected pulp will need a root canal.
