How does an active child heal after a knee injury?

My 10 year old son needs to rest after a knee injury but he is very active and doesn't sit still. How does an active child heal after a knee injury?

Usually very quickly despite their activities. They are smarter than we think. They will avoid painful activities which allow for helaing
Children under the age of 18 heal remarkably well due to open growth plates
That’s a great question. If it’s of the lowered extremity sometimes that’s why we still use traditional casts. Other times giving them a time limit/day or allowing that more time with reading, video games until the injury is healed.
During the day, wear a soft brace, and some ice while sleeping.
If it were my child I would let them do what is comfortable. A child with knee pain generally will not play through it. If he is pursuing activities and he is comfortable I would allow it.
Children are amazing physiologically. It seems they are able to heal in situations where older humans can’t. So long as the knee is somewhat limited, as directed by the pediatrician or Otho, they will bounce back. Just follow the recommendations. Good luck.
