Postoperative swelling can be significant but decreases rapidly within the first two weeks and is almost completely gone within six weeks. The very small amount of swelling that remains after six weeks can take up to nine months to disappear completely. Orthodontic appliances are typically removed six months after surgery. Hope that this answers your question!
It depends if both jaws were operated on in which case sometimes it may take up to 3 months before a patient can look normal again
The initial healing process will depend on age and what exactly is done (
4 months. Just like any major surgery it will take that long for you to adjust to your new bite, face, and the swelling to be completely done. Majority if the swelling takes 2 weeks to subside.
