Two to five days depending on the number and complexity of stains required in reviewing the tissue.
=46rom the time the pathology laboratory receives the liver biopsy specimen until a report is issued with a diagnosis takes approximately 2 to 5 business days. Once the report is issued it is sent to the office of the physician who obtained the specimen.
Liver biopsies results usually takes from 12 to 24 hours even a week, depending on the findings an any additional tests that might be needed to be performed for the final diagnosis. Thank you.
Results of biopsy of soft tissues are usually available in 1-2 days. If special studies are or consultation is needed, it may take a week or so.
