I am a 56 year old male. I want to know how long can you live with an ICD implant?

Many people live with an AICD their entire life. Sometimes with wires or generator needs to be changed. The reason for the ICD implant, i.e., heart damage or arrhythmia, can limit longevity and not the device.
AICD implants typically last approximately 7 years before they need a new battery. If you get routine checks every 3 months as recommended, the AICD should prevent you from dying of an arrhythmia for the rest of your life.
