I will get a dental filling. How long do fillings last?

Filling last for upwards of a few weeks to many years. It depends on the placement of the material and the forces placed onto the restoration. Large bonded restorations can fail if you bitew your fingernails or accidentally bang the tooth and/or filling into a hard object. Part of dentistry is the art and science of the service provided. Ask your dentist what is the best material to use in your particular situation.
It's depends on the type of filling also ,the location on the teeth ,,,front or back teeth
Generally fillings can last from 3-5-10 years depending where the filling is, what material is being used and the force of your bite and your diet ( eat a lot of hard foods, chewing ice, etc)
