How long do gums hurt after root canal?

I had a root canal yesterday. My gums still hurt. Is it normal? Should I see a dentist?

Quite normal. You need to think of root canal work as almost minor
surgery. Several days of discomfort is not abnormal
Use warm salt water for at least 3 days. Gum pain is from the rubber dam clamp. If it doesn’t subside, see your dentist.
The gums may be tender or sore for 5-7 days after a root canal. If it lasts longer than that, you should contact your dentist.
