How long do you stay in hospital after abdominal surgery?

I am a 28 year old male. I want to know how long do you stay in hospital after abdominal surgery?

This depends on the type of abdominal surgery. For routine hernia repairs, same day surgery is frequent. If bowel is removed or if extensive scar tissue is present, return of bowel function may be delayed and the hospital course may take longer, usually 2-5 days.
It depends on your comorbidities, but 1-3 days.
Your length of stay after surgery will depend on what operation you have and the method in which it is performed. The more complicated the operation the more likely you are to have to spend more time in the hospital. Also, how the surgery is done will impact how long you spend in the hospital. For most laparoscopic procedures, you can expect to go home within a few days of the operation. For most open cases, you can expect 3 to 5 days in the hospital. Once again though, it depends on the operation you are having.
It depends on if you are having an open procedure (with a long incision) or a minimally invasive procedure (with several small incisions). It also depends on what you are having done. If you are having your gallbladder removed, you may go home the same day. If you are having your pancreas removed, you may stay in the hospital a week.
