“How long does a CT scan for kidney stones take?”
I am a 49 year old female. I want to know how long does a CT scan for kidney stones take?

Normal protocol would be a non-contrast CT which should take seconds once they have you positioned on the CT table.
A CT scan of the abdomen to evaluate kidney stones takes approximately 5 minutes after being placed on a CT scanner. I would also include CT of the pelvis as a stone may fall out of the kidney and lodge in the ureter, bladder or sometimes seen in the urethra on its way out of the body during urination.
