I will have a bone marrow biopsy. How long does a bone marrow biopsy take?

If the person performing the bone marrow knows what he/she is doing, it should be virtually painless and take no more than a few minutes for both an aspiration and biopsy.
The procedure itself shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, but this also depends on whether this is done in the outpatient clinic or in a procedural suite by interventional radiology. Also, the results may take a week or longer depending on the tests ordered on the specimen.
The procedure includes local anesthesia, the time is 15-20 minutes depending on whether the operator biopsies one side or two.
Depends on who is doing the biopsy. It is outpatient quick. Procedure - From the time starting the procedure I would be prepared for 40 mins at least sometimes 10 minutes plus.
Less than 30 mins
