How long does dental implant recovery take?

I will get a dental implant tomorrow. I want to know how long does dental implant recovery take?

It takes 2-4 months for the implant to integrate with the bone of your mouth. Then the implant is tested to make sure it’s solidly fused to your bone. Next, the new tooth (crown) can be placed (2 visits). When I had an implant, I had to be careful not to chew anything hard on it while it was integrating. It was a little sore for a few days, more mildly annoying than painful, and an extra strength Tylenol took care of that. I’m so glad to have my tooth back!
If you have an implant placed without any additional procedures (like bone grafting, etc.) the recovery is almost immediate - most of my patients report that they returned to normal everyday activities the same day. It can take days or a week or so if you have a more complicated procedure (like a sinus lift, etc.), but simply having the implant placed is a very simple procedure.
The complete healing process of the surgical site takes approximately 6 months to complete. This time might change depending on factors such as infection or trauma, which could delay healing.

Recovery from dental implant surgery is generally uneventful and completed within a few days after the implant is placed. Most discomfort can be managed with motrin and Tylenol.
