How long does the pain last after a facelift?

I had a facelift 2 days ago. My face still hurts. Is it normal? How long does the pain last after a facelift?

It is normal to feel discomfort for a few days after a facelift. The extent of the procedure will determine how much discomfort you have. Everyone heals differently and one could feel this comfort from anywhere from one week to two weeks after the operation. If you feel that discomfort is more than you were told you were going to get I suggest you call your plastic surgeon and have your face examine.
After a facelift, you can feel some pain during the first week and you need to rest especially for the first two weeks. After that the pain should be less, but you can't do any physical activities up to 8 weeks post-surgery.
Everyone's recovery and pain tolerance is different after surgery, and this includes a facelift. You are only two days out, so be patient! Most patients may feel tightness but not much deep or incisional pain after a few weeks. Best wishes with your recovery. Nirav B.
