Most people recover in 1 – 2 weeks, but the gums need 6 weeks to be fully strong again. Bone grafting procedures take longer however.
Typical discomfort can last from a day to a week. Healing can take from a few weeks to a few months.
It depends from case to case, you should discuss with the dentist who is doing the gum surgery as he should have your X-rays and has evaluated you clinically.
Allow about 2 weeks to feel fully recovered, but only one or two days to take it easy.
Depends on how much work is done, the skill of your periodontist, pain management, and your cooperation with post-surgical management. Most people have a bad half-day then are fine. Also depends on your pain threshold.
