“How long should I avoid working out after a rhinoplasty?”
I am a 34 year old female. I want to know how long should I avoid working out after a rhinoplasty?

I usually tell my patients that they need to restrict heavy workouts for at least 3 weeks after surgery. My patients can go on short light walks a few days after surgery.
We recommend waiting one month after surgery before high impact workouts. However, most people can resume non-impact lighter exercises within about 10 days. It is best to clear any sort of exercise with you doctor after surgery.

It really depends on what type of rhinoplasty you have and how extensive it was. For example, if you have an open rhinoplasty and delicate cartilage grafts are sewn in place, it may take longer before people are back working out. For most of my patients, they are starting limited exercises at 2 to 3 weeks but a few weeks longer before strenuous workouts. Always protect your nose from trauma after rhinoplasty!
