For my patients with an anxiety disorder, the usual course of medications lasts between several months and a lifetime treatment.
It depends on their age, severity of anxiety, how disabling it is, family history, how long it has been there, and so on.
It's essential you discuss all of this with your treating physician.

It depends how long your doctor has prescribed it for. If you are approving talk to your doctor who prescribed it to decrease the dosage until completely off.
