Each injury is different. The doctor who examines you is the best judge
It depends on what kind of injury it was: muscular, bony or ligamentous and X-rays findings. Check with your doctor before you resume working out.
Every injury is different. After some you only need to wait a few days, after others you have to wait for months. Best thing is to see an orthopedic surgeon so that you can be properly evaluated and diagnosed and then they will make appropriate recommendations.
You need to wait until most of the pain has subsided. Then start with very light weights. First begin with bench lying flat on your back. IF no pain, progress to the incline bench. If no pain after a week, then you can do lifts in a standing position. Very light weights. IF a few weeks pass and no pain, then progress to lifts in a sitting position.

Hope it helps!!

You can do some gentle back stretching, but should wait to resume your normal workouts until you have been symptom free for several days.

Depends on the surgery and the type of work out but usually 2-3 months
