How many ibuprofen can I take for a toothache?

I've had a bad toothache for the last 2 days. I want to take ibuprofen. How many ibuprofen can I take for a toothache?

Ibuprofen daily maximum is 3200mg or 3.2 grams; roughly four (4) 800mg tablets. Spaced out evenly, that one tablet every 6 hours. A better solution is alternating Ibuprofen with Acetaminophen every 6 hours; it works better than a narcotic. Another option is a drop of clove oil on the offensive tooth. Both of these solutions are only temporary. Seek definitive treatment for the tooth asap.
Whatever the ibuprofen label says.
I believe you will find the manufacturer says no more than 2400 mg in a 24-hour period. But there are many other factors to consider here. Is the tooth pain before or after treatment? Was the correct treatment performed? Why are you still in pain? Also, your personal health may dictate a different regimen or prohibit the use of Nsaids.
