I have to fix my rectal prolapse. I will have surgery. How successful is rectal prolapse surgery?

Although I do perform rectal prolapse surgery in children, it is a last option. In my opinion, you need to treat the underlying cause of the prolapse. In children it can be cystic fibrosis or constipation. If you are an adult and looking to have this type of surgery, I would consult with a colon and rectal surgeon. Best of luck.
