Hyperpigmentation on sole of foot

I have developed a circular shaped area, light brown in colour on the sole of my foot. It has grown in size over the last 6 months. No pain or itching but one area is slightly raised. What could this be?

A growing light brown spot on the sole of your foot could be due to benign or serious causes. Since it’s changing in size and slightly raised, it’s important to get it checked.

Possible Causes:
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation – Common after minor injuries or pressure.
Plantar wart – Can look slightly raised but is usually rough.
Fungal infection – Some cause discolored patches.
Melanoma (rare but serious) – Changing, growing, or irregular spots need evaluation.
What to Do:
Monitor for changes in size, shape, or color.
See a doctor if it keeps growing, darkens, or develops an uneven border.
Since it’s been growing for 6 months, book a consultation at Irvine Skin for expert evaluation.
