Hello, first of all CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR UPCOMING WEDDING. It must be so exciting. There are currently many noninvasive procedures to diminish scars. They are all custom tailored to the patient. They range from lasers such as Picoplus to IPL such as Lummeca to RF such as Morpheus, in addition to specialized creams, some of which I make myself designed for the particular patient. Make sure you see a physician or surgeon who is can offer you the proper treatments. You can also visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information and assistance. Good luck to you and again congratulations!
You should have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with regard to the burn mark on your face. Seeing it in person can help the plastic surgeon determine a treatment and discuss potential outcomes you can expect.
Thanks for the great question. There are several ways to treat burn scars. It depends on the severity of the burn scar and the texture/coloring of your skin. If you are getting married in a year, I would recommend seeing a board certified Plastic Surgeon soon to see what they recommend. It could be as easy as a steroid injection or laser treatment to surgery. If you are in the LA area, I would be happy to see you. Call 213-250-1300 to schedule your consult.

There are several ways to improve scars, from excision to dermabrasion. It takes 6 to 8 months to see final results, so you should get started soon.
Burn scars are dependent on the depth of the injury. I treat the scars with lasers either an ablative or non ablative regimen depending on the scar. That would be the ReSurfX or the Active FX.

Serial Fraxel laser +/- surface steroid treatments if the burn mark is flat. If it is a raised scar, Fraxel laser + steroid injections.
This is a complex issue. Some old/“mature” scars can be improved with plastic surgery or laser treatments and some cannot. You should get at least one opinion from a plastic surgeon experienced in facial reconstruction and scar treatment before jumping into a treatment. If you do have a surgical treatment, try to get it at least a year before your event so that the surgical site can heal well. Most scars take at least a year to fully evolve and “mature”.
Burn scars can occasionally be revised but that will still leave you with another scar. Depending on your surrounding skin and the scar itself, you may be a candidate for fraxel treatments to reduce the appearance of the scar.
It's difficult to say without seeing the scar. There are several options available to you to improve the appearance of the scar. Depending on the age of the scar, scar creams can help. Micro needling may be of help as well as soft tissue fillers. LASER treatments may help or a scar revision may be required to get your best result. Consult a plastic surgeon for consultation of what is best for you.
Some scars can be improved with various techniques. It all depends on the scar and the location. The best way to give you a better answer is to make an appointment for a consultation. Being able to examine the scar will allow me to give you a better idea about what to expect. Call 801-951-8099 for an appointment.
