I have severe rectal burning and irritation beyond normal hemorrhoidal that has gotten unbearably worse while treating with preparation H.

Thanks for the question. Rectal burning has many different causes including infections, anal fissures, etc. It should be looked at and a full work up performed.
You need to see your primary care doctor. This may be hemorrhoids, but it could be something else. Your doctor needs to examine you and if your doctor is not able to diagnose or treat the problem, you may need to see a specialist. This problem has been going on for too long.
