I have a skin tag DIY removal issue?

I have a skin tag near my groin. I tried to tie it off with my hair. I didn't tie it tight enough and I can't remove the hair and the skin tag is swelling. Please help. Should I just cut it off?

It's not safe to remove a skin tag yourself. Here's what you should do:

Don't cut it: This can cause bleeding or infection.
Clean it gently: Wash the area with soap and water.
Use ice: To reduce swelling, use a cold compress for a short time.
See a doctor: A doctor can safely remove it for you.
For the best care, you can visit Irvine Skin to get help with this.
Tie it again, but tighter. Wait until it gets black and hard before cutting it off just on the far side of the tie.

Hello,

The best way is to have a dermatologist or primary care M.D. clip it off;,cauterize the base to avoid bleeding, bandage, and send in the specimen for pathology (we can't know for sure that it is OK without pathology).
Best wishes.
