Urologist Questions Urologist

I have chronic bladder/urethra pain?

Hello, this question is about a friend of mine who lives in Venezuela and does not have a lot of options in healthcare. She is a 75 y/o lady. A few years back she was hit by a car and declined medical attention. Some time later, she was in a lot of pain in her pelvic area and the doctor found she had a prolapse. They operated and fit her with a mesh. After that she started experiencing chronic pain and the inability to urinate.

When she is unable to urinate, the pain is excruciating. When she finally is able to urinate, the pain lessens. She underwent a painful procedure where the doctor tried to stretch her urethra, but that did not help the issue. Now she is in constant pain. She has had urine tests done and there is no blood or bacteria, despite this, she has been prescribed antibiotics. I am trying to help her as the doctors over there have exhausted their knowledge. Is there anyone who could maybe point out some options?

No easy solutions that you can get, especially if the specialists on her case who are familiar with her case and intervened on her have exhausted their abilities and they know her case well. May be time for a pain specialist to assist, or a second opinion, but has to be a urologist, not a nephrologist.
