“I'm worried about hematuria with no infection?”
About a month ago I noticed a bruise-like feeling in my right kidney area. I have no bruise and no injury just the feeling of a bruise. It's actually sore to lay on my side. I finally decided to go to urgent care when I noticed some blood.
They did a urine test and it showed hematuria and also negative urobilinogen when previous tests (a year ago showed 0.2) I am a 49 year old female. My period had ended a week prior and I do not take medications and don't drink or smoke. I'm concerned about the negative urobilinogen because they told me that could be a liver issue? And hidden blood in the urine without UTI. They did a 24 hour culture as well and it was negative also for any bacteria growth.
I'm left with a "bruise feeling" for a month, hidden blood and negative urobilinogen, and a little scared!

Microhematuria, which is blood found on microscopic exam, should be evaluated with a CAT scan with or without contrast to rule out kidney stones.
