Pediatrician Questions

Im 13 years old and male, what will happen if i take 7.5 mg of MK-677 for a month.

I am trying to increase my height as it has not increased in 10 months, ive been eating a good diet, exercising and still, i only gained muscle mass and not height, my wrist size has been the same aswell. My parents are both under 5'2 so i dont have the best genetics. I know mk-677 can cause diabetes and bloating so i will be sticking to a diet with complex carbs and no junk food or excess sodium. 7.5 mgs for a month is probably not going to do much. Are my growth plates closed and is it going to mess me up long term?

In order to determine if you are finished growing you need to have an x-ray of your hand and wrist to determine if your bones are the same age as your chronological age. This type of x-ray is a bone age. . They will also look to see if your growth plates, the part of your bones where the growth takes place are closed or open. For a boy you can calculate your predicted height from a formula. Dad height added to momma height (in inches) plus 5 inches and divide the total by 2. This will be what would be expected to be your final height within an inch or two. (Assuming you are genetically related to your parents) . Some supplements can cause anabolic effects and build muscle but are unlikely to affect your final height.
