Ingrown toenail removal months later

I had ingrown toenail removal surgery 3 months ago. They did both sides and so I have the middle left. I have what looks like a dark bruise under it. It's not sore or anything, no discharge, no tingles/itching. I see one tiny patch and I do mean patch at the base of my nail not all the way across just like a tiny square of what looks like new white nail coming in. Is this normal? I've this surgery before and everything went swimmingly. I feel like this Doctor went to deep and did some bruising somewhere along the way and I will most likely lose my toenail is what I'm thinking.

The nail can be looked at and sometimes can be caused from trauma after surgery. I would recommend having the nail grow out and start treatments with topical products such as Jublia which needs to be prescribed or use tee tree oil and Vicks vapor
Discoloration can happen after a nail procedure which usually grows out however if you are concerned it is always best to have it looked at and evaluated.

Having some bleeding under the nail as it grows out is perfectly normal. New nail begins to show about 3-4mo after the procedure. It will take anywhere from 9-12mo for the entire nail to have grown out since the procedure.
Recommend monitoring the dark patch and taking a picture every 2-3mo to ensure it is growing out. If so, hang tight. If not, return back to the office and have them reevaluate.
This can be very normal, bruising is usually from the procedure and should continue to grow out as the nail grows out. I always recommend following up with your physician to check it out if you have any concerns!
It sounds like the dark bruise is blood underneath the remaining part of the toenail. That is not unusual or anything to be concerned about. As the nail grows out the dried blood will come along with it. This can take a year or so.

As far as the patch at the base of the nail, it sounds like it is a new toenail. Anytime there is trauma or infection to a toenail, the body frequently generates a new toenail. That is my take on your description without seeing a picture of the patch and toenail.
