Yes it is there are several different procedures done and most of them work well especially if your surgeon does this regularly

Surgery is the best chance for a permanent solution and to be able to stop taking medication. There are several options for surgery, each has pros and cons. The traditional approach is called a fundoplication, also known as a "stomach wrap". The failure rate may be around 20-30%. The newer approach is placement of a device called the Linx. Failure rates are around 7%, but it's a newer device so we are not sure what will happen in 20 or 30 years.
