Radiologist Questions Mri

Is a MRI scan possible for the abdomen?

I have a lot of pain in my abdomen and the ultrasound is unable to detect any abnormality. Should I do a MRI scan?

A CT scan of the abdomen with oral and intravenous contrast may be more diagnostic as an initial test rather than MRI.
You should discuss this with your doctor. Ultrasound is very good at identifying many abnormalities but not everything. Similarly, mri is excellent at evaluating certain conditions. You should discuss this with your doctor.
Yes indeed. Usually we start with CT as it quick and also very useful. CT in the abdomen is our workhorse.
Given your history of pain, a CT abdomen and pelvis with IV contrast is a better option as CT has better spatial resolution and is better at finding tumor, pathologic lymph nodes and inflammation.
Yes.
