Is a bone graft always needed for an implant?

I will get a dental implant with a bone graft. Is a bone graft always needed for an implant?

Not necessarily. You should consult with your doctor as to whether a bone graft is necessary. Sometimes a bone graft is absolutely needed to provide an optimal site for implant placement, other times, an implant can be successfully placed without a bone graft.
Not always.  Question your American Dental Association surgeon to discuss it.

No. It depends on the amount and quality of bone at the site.
Not always. It depends on how much bone you have where the implant is going.
It is not always necessary, but depending on the bone levels in the area, bone grafting can increase the success of the implant and shorten healing times.
If you’re planning to receive an Implant, most of the times it is required to receive bone graft.
