I have a kidney infection. Is a kidney infection serious?

Yes, a kidney infection can become serious. Infections, if not treated with the appropriate medication, can take over your body. I suggest you see your family doctor first. Then see a urinary tract doctor. Your family doctor will prescribe a medication that takes care of basic infections of the urinary tract. The Urologist will prescribe a medication that will home in on the infection that you have. Stay in touch. Annie
If it's your first kidney infection then I would not worry just go see your doctor, primary care or urology. They will make sure your on the correct antibiotics as some infection can be resistant against certain antibiotics Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device
