I have a COVID-related cough. Is acupuncture effective in the treatment of COVID-19 related cough?

There is no data to support acupuncture in any covid-related symptoms. However, I do not see any harm either
Yes. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8083275/#:~:text=Functionally%2C%20acupuncture%20therapy%20may%20ease,and%20rehabilitation%20of%20COVID%2D19 .
I think cupping followed by acupuncture would be effective in treating your cough. We may also need to use some herbs, and possibly massage in your treatment.

We definitely have some herbal medicine in our arsenal of treatment tools that would help. There is an over the counter cough syrup found at just about every Asian supermarket called Pei Pa Koa that is excellent for chronic coughs of all sorts. I also use Lomatium dissectum, an excellent anti-viral herb for treating any acute viral infection. But you should consult both your doctor and pharmacist to make sure these medicines are safe for you.
Thank you for your question. Acupuncture is effective at treating coughs regardless of the cause. When treating a cough, acupuncture helps to restore "Lung Qi" to its normal function. Patients typically experience relief in several visits but may take longer depending on the nature of the cough and duration of illness.

COVID 19 is the cause of the cough, therefore, it will get better with time. Acupuncture can help for lasting effects of disease.
All the best.

Most of the time an acupuncturist is not treating a patient with an active case of covid as we all know that it is not wise to be in direct contact with others at this time. If you are talking about longhaul covid or after effects of recovery, yes, give acupuncture a try because it does help many people with cough reduction, phlegm reduction and breathing improvement.
Acupuncture is effective for any kind of cough. Just be sure you are no longer contagious, have tested negative, and wear a KN95 mask while you are out and about to prevent infecting anyone else or getting reinfected yourself as I have patients who have gotten it more than once.
