My daughter was diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid. Is an enlarged thyroid serious?

Most of the time, it is not. One has to check if it's enlarged with nodules or without nodules. The approach is different. In addition, we need to figure out of the thyroid function is not normal. She would probably need a blood test done and probably an ultrasound as a start.
It depends on what is causing her thyroid to be enlarged.
