“Is anesthesia safe for diabetics?”
I am a 45 year old female. I want to know if anesthesia is safe for diabetics?

Yes anesthesia is safe but as diabetics may have cardiovascular or kidney issues these must be stabilized pre op. Also glucose control must be good to prevent swings in blood sugar and problems associated with that issue.

That depends on how well your diabetes in controlled and what type of anesthesia is being used. You should be cleared by your doctor prior to any surgical procedure.
Hi.
Anesthesia is safe for diabetics. But, the blood sugar should be checked before, during, and after the surgery to make sure it is in the safe range. If the blood sugar is above a certain level (decided by your anesthesiologist ), the surgical procedure should be postponed until the blood sugar is brought to acceptable level .
